A holistic approach to permanent weight loss

On Feb 7th 2014, news.com.au published a story on ‘Cosi’ Costello, former Australian Biggest Loser winner in 2008, in which he said that he believed about 75 per cent of the contestants from his series in 2008 were back to their starting weight.

Surprising? Probably not really if you’ve ever been on the yo-yo diet merry-go-round. More revealing was his comment below: “But the show doesn’t address the reasons why people like me are so obsessed and addicted to eating excess amounts of food; it doesn’t get to the root of the problem.”

It’s been well documented that good nutrition and exercise alone are not enough to help you lose weight and keep it off. A holistic approach to weight loss acknowledges that unrecognised underlying emotional drivers may be causing you to overeat, so unless you deal with them, no diet will permanently work.
